(7) Haliday Island Wildlife Sanctuary:




The Haliday Wildlife Sanctuary of 6 sqr.km, commonly called Haliday Island, is one of the three Wildlife Sanctuaries of the Sundarbans Biosphere Reserve, the other two being the Saznekhali Wild Life Sanctuary and the Lothian Wildlife Sanctuary.




This Island is situated on the river Matla, very close to the confluence of the Bay of Bengal. Important wildlife includes the Spotted Deer, Wild Boar, Barking deer and Rhesus macaque. 

Lots of birds and endemic invertebrate fauna, much of which has not been properly recorded, are found on this island sanctuary. Royal Bengal Tigers are occasional visitors to this Island.




(8) Lothian Island Wildlife Sanctuary:

Sweet water pond for tiger. 
It is a small island of 38 sqr. km.and can be reached from Namkhana with a permit from DFO/24-Parganas (South) Division, Alipore, Kolkata or from Namkhana Range Office. 



There is no tiger in this island and people can walk amid mangrove trees and other vegetation without fear of tiger.


This island is famous for its views at sunset. The major animals like wild boar, variety types of poisons and non-poisons snakes, fishing cat, jackal, spotted deer, salt water or Earnestine crocodile, genetic dolphin and a varieties of birds are seen in this island.


(9) Chulkati – Dhulivasani:

  
Nearer to Kalas Island, the forest areas of Chulkati and Dhulivasani constitute the Kalas Wildlife Area of 462.39 sqr.km. criss-crossing by great rivers giving an unique and typical environ of sundarbans. 


There is also a unique watch tower of 53 feet high located deep inside the sundarban forests of Ramganga Range. Apart from a count of 7 tigers at Chulkati and 9 tigers at Dhulivasani, these forests harbour other animals like deer, wild boar, monkey, water monitor lizard and a host of great varieties of birds and other animals. 




It’s a great conservational effort that every year crocodile hatchlings are being released in the vast rivers of Matla and Thakuran of Chulkati and Dhulivasani – the forests of beauty and terror. There is no option or scope for night stay at this place.
