Population and life Style of Sundarbans:

 

Sundarban is a wonder in the World, not only in India or Bangladesh. There is no locality in the sundarbans, situated in Bangladesh. People live in 54 numbers of islands out of 105 islands of the sundarbans. People from Palamou, Chhapra, Chhotonagpur were engaged with to cut the mangroves as bondage labors.

Population in 2043 sqr.km. area about 26.43, 448 (census report 2011), in 19 blocks.  50% people are completely landless and 44% people belong to SC and ST category. The soil of this area salinity and single cropped area. Paddy, chilly, sunflower are main crops in this area. People of this area face natural disaster in every year and cultivators used to victimised. People are compelled to catch fishes, prawn, crab and honey from remote river and forest. A huge number of people lost their lives in the hand of nature, tiger and crocodile.

Many people cultivate prows in the char land of river. The prawn and crab are exported in Japan, Hong-kong, Malayasia. Forest department and state government has taken so many programmes to save poor people in this area.
